Time Scale for ordering
Wedding cakes require a 6 months notice period, any wedding cakes required sooner please phone to confirm availability before placing your order.
All Occasions cakes must be ordered at least 2 - 3 weeks in advance, last minute orders within 7 days prior to your event will incur a further £10 fee.
Cupcake orders can be placed up to 2 days prior to your event.

What is your payment/cancellation policy?
Wedding Cakes: A non-refundable £100 deposit is required to reserve wedding orders (up to the value of £500; orders with a value above £500 require a 25% deposit and orders with a value above £1000 require a 50% deposit) and the remainder of the balance due a minimum of 1 month prior to your wedding. Orders with overdue balances will be placed on hold and a £25 late payment fee will be added. Orders that become over 10 days overdue will automatically be cancelled with any monies paid lost. Wedding balances are non-refundable, however provided 3D Cakes are notified a minimum of 1 month before your wedding any balance paid above the initial deposit may be returned as a store credit gift voucher.
Occasion Cakes: All occasion cakes are non-refundable once booked, however if cancelling within 24 hours of purchase this will be refunded as a store credit gift voucher. All occasions cakes must be paid in full at time of order unless over the value of £500. A 50% deposit is required for orders over £500 with the balance due a minimum of 1 month prior to your event. Orders with overdue balances will be placed on hold and a £25 late payment fee will be added. Orders that become over 10 days overdue will automatically be cancelled with any monies paid lost.
All/any cake booked with a voucher: All cake vouchers are non-refundable. Vouchers are non-transferable. If cancelling, the voucher would be lost and any addtional monies paid.
Cake masterclass/gift pack orders must be paid in full at time of order. If a minimum of 14 days cancellaton notice is given prior to attending a cake class, this may be refunded as a store credit gift voucher.
Date change for any type of cake order: Once a date is booked in/secured this can only be changed provided 3D Cakes are given a minimum of 3 months notice (this will carry an admin fee of £25).
Store credit or voucher spends can be used against full price items only and cannot be used on any discounted item or in conjunction with any promotion. Credit/vouchers cannot be used to cover delivery fees.

*In normal circumstances, cancellations/date changes with under 3 months' notice would be subject to our regular terms & conditions listed above. However, we realise these are unprecedented times and we are trying to help our customers as much as possible by making it possible for those affected to move their order to another date. How is my cake made?
How our Wedding Cakes are Made
The Bake
Our unique blended recipes use the finest ingredients and have been developed over the nine years we have been in business to achieve the perfect sponge flavours. Our cakes are never frozen and are always freshly baked the week of your wedding.
If you require Gluten, Dairy, Egg or Nut-free cake this can be accommodated. Due to this requiring exclusive use of the baking areas/ovens, such flavours carry an additional charge of £25 per tier.
The Coating
As standard each sponge flavour is coated in a white marzipan undercoat followed by a fondant or frosting top finishing coat. Marzipan can be replaced with chocolate ganache and an additional undercoat of fondant. As this option includes an additional layer of coating this carries a cost of £8 per tier. The tier is then finished as normal with a top layer of fondant/ frosting depending on design selected. Our chocolate ganache undercoat consists of melted premium Belgian chocolate mixed with cream; this then sets and seals the moisture in the sponge.
The Build
Plastic cake dowels are used in each cake tier to support tiered wedding cakes. Each tier is 3.5” in height as standard. This includes one 12mm thick cake drum which sits on the base of each tier. You will only ever find cake drums on the base of our wedding tiers. Drums allow a dowel’s point to secure itself in the drum, making the cake very stable.
We do not use basic cake boards for any of our wedding cakes. Cake boards are around 3mm thick (and are substantially cheaper than cake drums) however do not provide the same quality and stability as drums.
If you wish, you can select up to two additional cake drums to be added to each tier (for an additional cost of £12.50), increasing the height of each tier by around 1”. The amount of cake in each tier remains the same; this option is designed for aesthetic purposes only.
Cake Portions
A 3 tier cake will provide around 90 portions; 4 tiers will provide around 120 portions and 5 tiers will provide around 160 portions.
Each portion should be cut to a size of 2”X 1” to achieve the above portion quantities.
Delivery
We aim to deliver all wedding cakes the day prior to your venue. We aim to keep on the day deliveries to a minimum to avoid any issues with traffic or unforeseen delays, and to allow time to resolve or repair any issues or damage to the cake in the event of these occurring during transit. If your venue is unable to accept delivery on the day prior to your event, please let us know in advance and we can try to arrange on the day delivery. Please note that this may not always be possible and alternative delivery arrangements may have to be made. An on-the-day service is available upon requst with a set time for delivery for a cost of £100.00 (this is a sole delivery with no other deliveries sharing the same route).
Do you deliver?
Delivery is available thoughout the UK. To guarantee the quality of our products we dont use a courier service for orders within the UK, we personally deliver our cakes ourselves.
Shipping is available but dependent on cake required.
Delivery fees are calculated by distance traveled and are roughly 50p per mile.
While it is generally not a problem for clients to transport smaller cakes, self-transporting any cake is at your own risk. 3D Cakes does not recommend clients self-transport 3D/sculptural cakes, cakes over 2 tiers tall, or any cake more than 3 hours and is not responsible for any damage that may occur to any client-transported cake once it has left our store.
General Cake Information
We offer a range of 27 delicious flavours, this can be found under any cake gallery picture. All types of sponges contain a layer of fresh buttercream.
To ensure our cakes also remain moist we also add a thin layer of white almond marzipan designed for sponges. (For any customer preferring no marzipan we can offer double icing instead to ensure your cake remains moist and at a high quality).

We can accommodate most allergies, please ask for details at time of order.
Cake Stand Hire
Cake stands are hired out on a 3-day hire period. The price of £70 to hire a stand is based on a £20 hire fee and a £50 fully refundable deposit payable on return of the stand within the stated time period and in it's original condition. Late return is subject to a fee of £15 per day as stands are required for other weddings.
Cake Toppers/Photos
We reccommend that any additional items to be added to your cake, for example cake toppers, brooches etc be left in a suitable position at your venue and arrangements made with the venue staff (or in certain circumstances our staff) to add these following delivery. We can, at the descretion of store management, accept certain items instore, for example ribbons or other decorations to be added to your cake. Please note that any such items handed into our stores and held in store are left at your own risk. Due to the large amount of orders we deliver each year, we do prefer that items be left and added at your venue to eliminate the risk of any misplacements or mixups. 3D Cakes accepts no responsiblity for lost or broken items.
Terms and Conditions
3D Cakes will make every effort to ensure all aspects of the required design are followed exactly, however 3D Cakes hold the artistic licence to adjust any design (if felt necessary to improve or help the stability of the cake) by the head designer. Some designs may include the use of polystrene and/or crispy cake for desired effect and overall look, this won't effect the number of cake portions as all of these will be included in the sponge based parts. If for any reason your not entirely happy with the design of your cake please phone or email our store a minimum of 2 hours prior to your event. We can then endevour to rectify this for you. If you are not 100% happy with the quality of your cake sponge please return at least 50% of your cake for testing within 2 days of your event.
